Goodbye Farrah

I have to admit that I’m not too upset about Michael personally, but a little more about Farrah… I loved her 70s wholesome, athletic, all-American beauty in her heydays.

Skateboarding in Nike trainers, great jeans and that hairstyle! One of those cult images! Energy, dynamism and style!

Folk-inspired birds

I am really into folk art at the moment! The bright colours, the simplicity of the patterns, the craftmanship, the connection with nature and a more simple way of living...

This amazing vintage wallpaper from ebay ticks all the boxes for me!

The dove is one of image I always return to, as leather appliques on zip pouches and clutch bags for instance. As well as a great symbol of peace, the doves remind me of early Warhol drawings. Two fluttering doves designed by Lalique decorate the bottle top of L’Air du Temps, the Nina Ricci perfume that my mother used to wear. So here again, I cannot keep away from them! To continue on a folk theme, I made these lavender birdies. Not only they will add to touch of colour to any closet, they are also smell great and a moth repellent. Available on etsy!

Silk clutches!

I've been keeping busy this week with a new line of luxurious silk clutches!
I had only meant to buy a little bit of fabric to see how the clutches would turn up before investing... but I entered an Aladdin's cave last Saturday and left with a little more fabric than intended! The quality of these Italian silk satins is so amazing!
I am rather pleased with the result below!

They have quite a bit of body, thanks to a felt "secret" layer, and a cute tiny golden bow ornate the front. And now, they're available in my etsy shop! And more to come next week!

My Mickey Ears

Whilst I am not at all into the celebrity endorced products or their one-off design projects, I am totally smitten by Luella's design for My Mickey Ears Auction (http://www.buyoncegivetwice.co.uk/event/mymickeyears)
I would definitely wore these given the right occasion!
